The Story
In a world divided between the creatures of land and sky, a conflict erupts that threatens to tear the animal kingdom apart. The land animals—led by fox, bear, and yak—face off against the birds—including golden eagle, raven, and owl. When they demand that a small bat choose sides, she finds herself in a unique position.

As both a furry mammal and a creature blessed with wings, the bat understands both sides. Instead of choosing between them, she uses her understanding of both communities to help them see past their differences and find common ground.

A Glimpse Inside

Every page of A Friend to All was painted by hand on 9” × 9” paper, a process that unfolded over many months. Beginning with watercolor and finishing with layers of acrylic, Sarah Finestone infuses each animal with vibrant color, rich depth, and a distinct personality.
